Do people copy things they see in films, TV and Computer games?

Do people copy what they see? - Grand Theft Auto

What do I think about the issue?

I think that articles alike these place a high blame on the video game as opposed to the individuals mental state/stability and along with this, no study has ever shown that violent video games result directly in actual violence. This is one of the first issues of video game violence to come from outside of the USA (E.g. the 8 year old that killed his elderly carer) and along with this come the statistics of that overall, violent crime is down in the US while violent video games have become more popular, games such as Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row.

Film - Project X

A film that follows a group of teenagers throwing a house party that gets out of control, originally based on an Australian party thrown by Corey Worthington has received many copycats since its release, one of the worst was (again in the USA) where they wrecked a new $500,000 house and up to $100,000 worth of damages. An investigator into the case found that the teenagers when asked why they done all the damage said that they were copying directly what they saw in the Project X film. Other copycats have also popped up, as is stated in this ABC article
